On a historical foray through 1030 Vienna, we experience 2000 years of exciting district history. On our stops we pass the former homes and production sites of the white tanners, as well as the Gänseweide and Erdberger Straße 41, where the tavern where Richard the Lionheart was captured in the Middle Ages once stood. Roman ruins bear witness to the early settlement of the Rennweg and anti-aircraft towers stand like gloomy memorials from the Nazi era in Arenbergpark. But even where there are no historical remnants to be seen, you will notice that the history of the district is stored in the memory of its street names.
