From Himmelpfortgrund via Lichtental to Rossau – ending at the Schubert School. There is not much left of the old Lichtental, but there are a lot of stories about the short life of the “Liederfürst” (prince of songs) Guided tour of his birthplace and visit to the Lichtental parish church, where his talent was discovered at an early age.

Both are children of today’s 9th district Alsergrund. (or: born in today’s 9th district) – Schubert’s parents first lived in a room in Badgasse, diagonally opposite where Kristina Burger’s family moved into a new building more than 200 years later.
Franz Schubert’s mother Elisabeth Vietz originally came from Zuckmantl in Austrian Silesia – Kristina Burger’s great-grandmother also came from this region and there is a “Vietzin” in the family tree – what a nice coincidence!
